Our Students

I am a life-long Hoboken resident who has, since  January,  been participating in the Wednesday morning art classes run by Liz Cohen.  I am writing to let you know how much these classes have meant to me and how grateful I am that they are available, free of charge, right here in my own town.  While I’m new to this creative world, I always had interest but, until my retirement, never had the time to pursue art lessons.   Thanks to Liz I am now learning fundamentals and having the chance to experiment with various materials.  Liz is an excellent, supportive instructor who makes this new experience challenging without being intimidating for our entire class which includes novices like me along with many talented artists.  Somehow in this diverse group Liz manages to provide for everyone’s needs.

Again, I want to thank you for making this wonderful program available.   I hope that you will continue to provide the support needed to keep it going – and growing – into the future.

I would like to express my support and gratitude for Liz Cohen’s Wednesday morning art class. In my short time in her class, I have witnessed Liz inspiring both new artists as well as artists who have been working for many years. Her knowledge and background in art as well as her teaching skills make this class a treasure.

Liz always supplements her visual introduction with wonderful art supplies. This allows students to explore and create in the most satisfying and way. We have all learned to look at trash in a new way!
